1. Walk Tall
This is something my parents nag me about! I am always walking slumped over, like I don't want to be seen by the rest of humanity. Correcting your posture, holding your head up, and rolling your shoulders back; not only does this show to other people that you're confident, but it also can make you feel a little bit more confident!
2. Wonder Woman/ "I've just won the lottery!" Pose
I discovered these two poses from Anna Barnes' book. It says "Try adopting a wide stance with your hands in the air, as if you've just won the lottery," and "Stand with your feet slightly apart and your hands on your hips." Standing in either one of these poses for two minutes can alter your brain chemistry, thus leading to an instant confidence boost.
3. Stay away from Negativity
"Inhale Confidence, Exhale Doubt." Don't worry, think positively. What good has ever come out of constant pessimism? Not only do negative thoughts affect your confidence, but the environment you're in also. Bad relationships, bad friendships, even the way your room looks! Eliminate negative influences, like friends that always put you down, and you'll start seeing life with sunshine and rainbows... well, actually that depends on where you are!
4. "I can" and "I will"
These are called 'Mantras.' I knew about these, but I never knew what they were called or how they worked. They're originally in Hinduism and Buddhism, and they're a phrase you can frequently chant to boost confidence. So instead of saying "I can't" try saying I will/ I can, People believe they work best spoken out loud, so get chanting!
5. List ten things you like about
This one is a lovely one! I can certainly say that it definitely makes you feel good about yourself. In today's world, we constantly pick out the things we don't like about ourselves, so by only focusing on the good, it can put you in the best mood!
6. Eat you way to confidence
B Vitamins can give you a good boost, pay attention to B1, B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12, they can all be found in a balanced diet. Staying hydrated can keep your skin and hair looking its best, which helps boost confidence. Other things like eating more protein, eating naturally sweet foods, and cutting down on caffeine can boost your confidence.
So I hope this helps anyone who's in need of a confidence boost. I'd recommend Anna Barnes' confidence book, I bought mine from Urban Outfitters.
