The Worst Holiday Of My Life

Story time!

Last year, in August 2014, Mum, Dad, Grandma and I went to Spain, Algorfa. I didn't get any photos, however my experience will stay with me forever.

This is the story of when I passed out.

So we got the the resort. It was so quiet. There was only one family around the pool and, to be honest, the guys weren't something I'd choose to look at. The beginning of the holiday was fine; I got a good tan and I really enjoyed myself. Until about the 4th or 5th day.

There was no wifi, apart from at the front gate, so I often walked down there with my mum and watched youtube videos. But on this exact day, my mum left me. There was apparently an 'amber warning' for the day. This meant to be cautious of the heat because IT WAS 48 DEGREES! Oh so you offer an amber warning but to forget to warn me, thanks, do you want me to shrivel?!

So I was stood there; key word being 'stood' watching Youtube (if I remember rightly it was ThatcherJoe) when I felt weird. My head felt like it was stuffed with candy floss. I headed back to our apartment (luckily it was only 10 steps away from me.) I went to the fridge, not talking to anyone. I got out a jug of water (spilling the majority of it on the floor.) I started pouring a glass when I stopped, saying "I feel weird."

As soon as I said this everything went cloudy. I didn't know what was going on. "I can't see anything." someone ran over to me and stuffed a magnum down my neck. I heard my dad saying I was dehydrated. I collapsed to the floor and the only thought that was in my mind was am I dying?

When I came to, I was on a bed, apparently trying to fight my parents who were trying to cool me off. I couldn't stand so my dad carried me to the bath, baring in mind I had a dress on! I kept asking "how long was I out for" but no one would answer me, they just kept screaming and shouting.

The rest of the day I spent laying on my bed, being fed every food you can name. Lets just say the rest of that holiday was horrendous! I couldn't do anything without an adult and it just completely ruined my holiday.

So the moral of the story is drink plenty of water when your abroad because, trust me, you do NOT want to pass out.
