Blogging Series: Blogging Essentials

A Camera
Obviously, you're going to need photos for your blog. I don't know about you, but photos make me want to read blogs more. I use a Canon EOS 100D. There are a lot of good cameras out there, just do your research and find the one that's right for you! If you're not wanting to spend so much money on a camera, you can use the camera on your phone. iPhone cameras are surprisingly good. I'm not sure about android cameras but again, whatever works for you!

A Laptop
Having a laptop is pretty handy. The format of Blogger is pretty simple on the desktop, I'm not too sure for tablets, but I know that you have more control over the whole design of your blog.

An Email
This one's pretty bog-standard. Of course, you are going to need an e-mail. If you're wanting to start a 'Blogger/.blogspot' blog, you will need a Gmail; it's free and easy to set up!

Social Media
VITAL! If you don't have a Twitter account, I'd advise you to set one up. Social media is a great way to connect to other bloggers with your interests, and to promote your own blog. Just please don't spam!

Notebooks
Aesthetically pleasing, and aesthetically helpful. Not only are notebooks pretty to photograph, but they're also a handy tool for bloggers. You can jot down blog post ideas, blogs you need to check out etc. You can also make checklists for yourself, so you don't forget anything (I really need to take my own advice)

Bloglovin'
Bloglovin' is a great site for you to connect to other bloggers. You can save blog posts to your own collections so you can return to them for inspiration, motivation, or just something to do. Bloglovin' is also a great way to build traffic, as you can gain followers that then get notified whenever you publish a post.

Dafont.com
Best site for downloading pretty fonts for your blog! It's free and safe to download a many fonts as you like. I've done blog posts including many of my favourite fonts so if you want to read them click here.

So that's a few essentials that are handy for starting/getting your blog off to a good start. If you have anything that you want to share, leave a comment- help fellow bloggers out!
